Amazon Responds on Netflix Outage

Here’s what Amazon.com just this afternoon told Etopia News it had to say about the Christmas Eve outage of Netflix due to a failure in Amazon’s cloud system:

“AWS [Amazon Web Services] experienced issues with the Elastic Load Balancing service that did impact some customers in the US-EAST region. Impacted customers started to recover the evening of December 24 and the service was fully recovered and functioning correctly on December 25. We have been heads down ensuring customers are operating smoothly and will be publishing a full summary of the event in the coming days.”

Netflix’s PR link led me to my suggestions page on their apparently-functioning site, so I’ll be watching “The Great Gatsby” for the next few hours.
