Senator Harkin supports Obama on renewable energy, is concerned about "final package"

Washington, D.C., January 9, 2009

In order to clarify his position regarding President-elect Barack Obama's proposed stimulus plan, as reported in today's New York Times in an article entitled Senate Allies Fault Obama on Stimulus, a spokesperson for U.S. Senator Tom Harkin (D-Ohio) today told Etopia News that while the Senator completely agrees with President-elect Obama's proposal, expressed in yesterday's speech at George Mason University in northern Virginia, that the U.S. should double its renewable energy output in three years, he was concerned that the final package include provisions to do that.
